Cat 2 - Civil Warning
The rioting in Dublin on the 23rd occurred in response to a mass stabbing incident on Parnell Square East (Street) near to the Garden of Remembrence. In this event, 3 school children between the ages of 5 and 7 were attacked by a man with a knife. This occured around 12:30. Shortly thereafter, the man was taken down by a Brazillian delivery driver who hit the assailant in the head with his helmet, while the public in the immediate vacinity fought with the assailant keepping him disarmed and unable to move. The actual disarmament and disablement was done by Caio Benicio, who also ran from the scene with the weapon used to prevent its further use.
Gardaí (Irish police) and EMS were very quick to respond to the incident, with the area cordoned off. In the subsequent hours after the incident as news spread around dublin, and the world crowds began to gather in the city and around 15:00 to 16:00 localised clashes with An Gardaí Síochána began in and around the area.
Later that evening at around 17:00 full rioting broke out on the streets of dublin. Riot police were called to the scene of the incident which was now unfolding. Several Garda cars were set on fire and destroyed, 3 busses were set alight along with several dumpsters and the Lúas was also set alight on O'Connell Street.
By 18:00 the riot itself was in full swing and shops and hotels were being vandalised to obtain rubble and furnishings to be used as weapons against riot police.
By about 21:00 Control was regained of the City Centre by Riot Police and Gardaí where rioters were aprehended and also pushed out of the city. By 22:00 dublin was deserted with the exception of people climbing out of the wreckage and other venues to get home. Some traffic was reinstated that night, allowing a tightly controlled flow of vehicles though to complete rounds of delivery and transport of people.
The Following morning saw the Lúas being towed down the tracks to be cleared up, the busses and cars removed and the power cables and street being repaired and resurfaced after the fires. Shops that were ransacked were promptly boarded up and the city remained on edge until about the 27th of November, where Dublin City now rests in an almost tense calm. As a result of this, the Alex Alerting Service has moved this incident into the archive and will update this page with facts and figures when they come available.
At this time, it is not known the state of the condition of the 4 victims and The Alex Alerting Service and the whole of Dublin gives its love and support.
The carrousel of images (either above if on mobile or to the left on PC) is images from the rioting itself and the aftermath of the event.
I've done my best to title everything correctly for you in the carrousel and I hope it is helpful for you to picture the chaos on O'Connell Street that night. I know, I didn't include the image of the military vehicles, they were never there.
This event has concluded. There will be no further updates and any subsequent unrest in Ireland will be categorised as a new event.

The Alex Alerting Service is currently declaring Dublin City Centre tentatively safe. As a result the alert level is being lowered from a Category 2 to a Category 1 Low Cautionary Advisory.
It is still recommended for foreign individuals or individuals of colour to still exercise caution and to have your wits about you. Folks, we can relax a little bit. Of course, if you are in the city centre, please have your head ona. swivel, take note of Garda movement, crowding and signs of violence and move away from it immediately.
Nothing should kick off today, but if it does, take shelter in the likes of Penneys, Dunnes, Dealz, Coffee Shops, or eateries. These shops and stores would be considered low value targets and are the least likely to be damaged. If anything is spotted, immediately inform me either through TikTok to @AAS_ROI or @Fir3Fly1995 or ring me directly. I will have my phone on loud.
Thank you folks and have a wonderful day.
